Born on 10th May 1986 in Vinjanam Padu near Prakasam Dist, A.P. in an agricultural family.
From a very early age watching his Grand Father Tarigopula Ranga Rao and his grand father’s opponent play, Mr Pentala Harikrishna had keen interest in Chess. One day Harikrishna made few good moves which were missed by his grand father and his opponent. Seeing his grand son’s interest late Sri Tarigopula Ranga Rao taught him the basics of the game.

What does the “P” in “P Harikrishna” stand for? And why isn’t it spelled out? Just curious.

I am very happy that Hari krishna is doing very well in chess. Hope he will make a name for himself like Viswanathan Anand .
