Hari finishes joint second

NEW DELHI: P. Hari Krishna shared the second spot with two others winning his ninth round game against Konstantin Landa of the Reggio Emilia International chess tournament at Reggio Emilia (Italy) on Monday.

Hungary’s Zoltan Almasi drew with Azebaijan’s Vugar Gashimov in 15 moves to win the title with six points.

The results (ninth round): P. Hari Krishna bt Konstantin Landa (Rus); Vugar Gashimov (Aze) drew with Zoltan Almasi (Hun); Ni Hua (Chn) bt Mihail Marin (Rom); David Navara (Cze) bt Michele Godena (Ita); Victor Korchnoi (Sui) drew with Sergei Tiviakov (Ned).

Standings: 1. Almasi (6 points), 2-4. Gashimov, Ni Hua and Hari (5.5 each), 5. Landa (5), 6-7. Korchnoi and Navara (4 each), 8-9. Tiviakov and Marin (3.5 each). 10. Godena (3).
